We visited Italy for 2 weeks, packed a little heavy, and stayed at several hotels for 1-3 nights max. We arrived at Hotel Villa Marsili near 5pm after traveling by car for a few hours. We were greeted by several staff members who eagerly awaited our arrival and were ready to unload our vehicle parked around the bend on a hill. The friendliness, professionalism, and willingness to make our stay as comfortable as possible was unparalleled! We should have written their names down..... the evening team was incredible as was the sweet lady who checked us out the following day and gave us directions and recommendations of what to do for our short stay there. The night we checked in, the manager kindly made dinner reservations for us and I mentioned that I needed to eat gluten free so she made sure the restaurant could accommodate. The amazing, above and beyond step was that the following morning, their chef who is also the mother of one of the staff members who showed us so much hospitality, made me several gluten free pastries and the team of young men attending breakfast pointed me to all the gluten free options which was by far the best selection our entire vacation. The chef went out of her way to make some special dishes that I could enjoy. Their breakfast was defnitely the nicest out of 9 hotels we stayed at. Our room was spacious and tastefuly decorated with all the conveniences we'd want or need. The staff and accommodations exceded our expectations and therefore was a highlight of our vacation and we definitely would like to visit again. We got caught in a rather heavy downpour on our way to dinner, but fortunately the hotel has umbrellas available and the staff encouraged us to bring them along in case of rain. They also offer a happy hour each evening as a nice added touch. They do have dinner by reservation only... we're sure it would not disappoint! Visiting Cortona... you must stay at Hotel Villa Marsili!

Villa Marsili is a dream! The hotel is a boutique hotel and it is truly from a different world. The hotel itself is a historical villa which is classical and beautifully decorated throughout with antique furniture. The breakfast is simply the best and by far one of the tastiest breakfasts I have ever eaten in a hotel. (I have traveled extensively). I recommend trying the delicious delicacies which their chef prepares. They are amazing! Our room was extremely comfortable and had a fabulous shower with a great pressure. The staff there are so friendly and helpful. They take time to explain and tell you where to go. In the late evening, they have this wonderful Tuscan tradition of serving Vin Santo and cantucci as well as other biscotti. It’s just a lovely touch before you turn in for the night. I definitely recommend staying at Villa Marsali it is wonderful!

Beautiful, elegant room decorated with traditional Italian style. My view onto the countryside was lovely. The staff were exceptionally helpful, organising taxis to/from the railway station and directing me to restaurants offering vegetarian options. The highlights, however, were the sensational buffet breakfast, the evening aperitivi served with delicious pre-dinner snacks, and the later evening sweet treats and vin santo available to enjoy in the bar or one's room. A short walk to the historic centre of this stunning town, made famous by Frances Mayes in her novel Under the Tuscan Sun.

Homemade breakfast with eggs and croque monsieurs was outstanding! The room was spacious and comfortable with the prettiest view of the countryside. What stood out most was the friendliness of the staff even from our first greeting. They helped us make phone calls since we only spoke minimal Italian. They went above and beyond helping us get to the train station when we had an early departure…actually driving us themselves. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. We will be back! Thank you for a beautiful stay and for smoothing the bumps of travel!

It was an elegant atmosphere with the most lovely and accommodating staff. From the moment of our arrival they went out of their way to assure our comfort, right down to driving us too our dinner so we didn't have to walk the distance in the heat. The room was gorgeous, immaculate, and with a beautiful view . They include breakfast and an evening snack. The breakfast was out of this world with gourmet savory bites, fresh fruits, cereals, and many homemade pastries. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer! Highly highly recommend!
